How do I fix the “Application configuration is incorrect” Switch Panel error?

 

Some users may get the error "The Application configuration is incorrect" when they try and run the FSX plug-in manually – if this occurs, they should try the following:

 

Try uninstalling FSX and then go to the C:\Windows\winsxs folder - delete the three files starting with x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect from there and then restart the PC and reinstall FSX.

 

Reinstall our Switch Panel driver again to resolve the issue
